October 10 Workshop!

A Workshop day to learn the mysterious ways of the Gelli Plate, creating designs of myriad style and colour! Learn Gelli Plate as a new user, or develop new techniques to add to what you already know!

We will then enter our papers into an Accordian Collage Book which we will make using one large sheet of Watercolour paper. We will Tear and cut our gelli plate papers to arrange within its pages to create a beautiful, running piece of Art similar to the one in the video!

Pat Durant is a Mixed Media Artist who began creating in earnest in 2020. A life-long creative, once retired, she finally had the time to bring her creative longings forward and found Mixed Media was her home. Gelli Plate printing and creating was top of her list in early days and she is eager to share her knowledge and experience with you!

Saturday, October 10

10:00am - 3:00pm

Nepean Creative Arts Center, Studio 7, 35 Stafford Road, Bells Corners

A selection of papers:

• white tissue paper (dollar store)

• photo copy paper (20+ sheets if you have it)

• other specialty papers like teabag paper/japanese paper, if you have them)

• exacto knife and cutting board

*some specialty paper will be provided

Tools:

scissors, matte medium, acrylic paints, mark-making tools, black marker, paint pens, masking tape, stencils. *laces, onion bags, etc can make beautiful patterns.

hairdryer or heat gun if you have one. Two will be provided.

1 sheet 22 × 30 Watercolour paper, light weight so it can be easily folded.

You may want to bring lunch and snacks, or eat at one of the close-by restaurants.

$65 - this will include the cost of special materials, room rental and insurance!

Non members may attend the workshop for an extra $10 which will cover insurance costs for the day. Or, you may wish to become a full member of OMMA for only $35/year and enjoy the full benefits of Membership!
